FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Everything below is what we would tell you on the phone. If your question is not here, ask it — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
Ordering and quotes.
What happens between asking and agreeing.
- About 24 hours on a normal week, and often the same day. If your job needs a supplier price we do not already have, we will tell you that rather than leave you waiting.
- It depends on the method, not on us. Screen printing needs a couple of dozen before the setup makes sense; DTF and vinyl have effectively none. The comparison table on the decoration methods page lists each one.
- Usually, yes. We will need to see them first — some fabrics and finishes will not take a stitch or a transfer. We do not cover the cost of a garment we did not supply if something goes wrong, and we will say so before we start.
- Yes. A blank sample is the cheapest way to settle a fit argument, and a decorated sample is worth it on any run over a hundred pieces. Ask and we will price both.
Artwork and proofs.
What we need from you, and what you get back.
- Vector art is ideal — AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. If all you have is a photo of a business card, send it anyway. We will tell you honestly whether it can be used or whether it needs redrawing, and what redrawing costs.
- Always. You get a free digital proof within about 24 hours showing size, placement and colors. Nothing is printed or stitched until you approve it, and changes before approval are free.
- Close, and sometimes exact. Ink can be mixed to a Pantone. Thread comes in fixed shades, so embroidery is matched to the nearest one and we name it on the proof. If it has to be exact, tell us early — special thread can be ordered.
- We can set simple type and lay out a basic mark, and we will say when a job really needs a designer rather than us. We would rather point you at one than sell you something we half-did.
Pricing and payment.
What the number is made of.
- Setup covers the work that happens before the first garment — digitizing a logo for embroidery, or burning a screen per print color. It is charged once for a new design. Reorders of the same artwork skip it.
- Because setup and machine time are spread across more pieces. The ladder is published on every product page, so you can see exactly where the next break is and how much it saves you.
- On larger runs, usually half up front and the balance before shipping. On a group order nobody pays a deposit at all — each person pays for their own item at checkout.
Group orders.
For when one person is in charge of everyone's shirts.
- You pick the product and set a deadline, we give you a link, and you share it. Everyone picks their own size and pays for their own item. You watch it fill up on a dashboard and close it when you are ready.
- You set the minimum. If it is not met by the deadline, nobody is charged and nothing is made. That is the whole point of collecting payment at checkout rather than up front.
- You can reopen the order any time before we start production. After that it becomes a second run, with its own price.
- If you want them to. We can fold, bag and label each piece by name so handing them out takes minutes instead of an evening. It is a per-piece charge and it is on the quote.
Turnaround and delivery.
Dates, and what we will and will not promise.
- About 10 working days from proof approval on a standard run, and large runs add roughly a day per hundred pieces. The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you ask for a quote.
- Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly. Rush handling is a real charge because it means moving other people's work, so we only offer it when we can actually deliver.
- Ground shipping is free over $250. Under that it is charged at cost and shown on the quote. Local pickup is always free.
- Call us at (800) 123-4567. If we made a mistake — wrong size sewn, print off center, ink not cured — we remake it. If the proof you approved is what arrived, we will still talk about the options.
Care and reorders.
Making it last, and making the next one easy.
- Cold, inside out, with like colors, and tumbled dry low. No fabric softener on anything printed. That single habit is the difference between two years and five.
- Tell us the job or the style number. Your digitized file and your screens are on our shelf, so a repeat run skips setup entirely and starts straight away.
- Yes, indefinitely, unless you ask us to delete it. It stays yours — we never put another customer's name on your file or use your logo as a sample without asking.
Still stuck on something?
Ask us directly. You will get a straight answer from someone who works in the shop, usually the same day.
