Artwork requirements
Send whatever you have. This page is so you know what will happen to it — not so you can be turned away for sending the wrong thing.
Free digital proof included
What to send, whatever the method.
Five things that make every job easier, in rough order of how much they help.
- Vector art is best: AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. It can be scaled to any size without going soft.
- If you only have a raster file, send it at 300 DPI at the size it will be decorated — a 400-pixel logo cannot be rescued by enlarging it.
- Transparent backgrounds save a step. A white box around your logo prints as a white box.
- Send the artwork on its own, not embedded in a slide deck or a document.
- Tell us the colors you want if you know them. Pantone numbers if you have them, plain names if you do not.
What each method needs.
The requirements differ more than people expect. A file that stitches beautifully can print badly, and the other way round.
Embroidery
Stitched thread. The most durable option, and the one that reads as premium.
Vector art if you have it
AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. If all you have is a PNG, send the largest version you own and we will work from that.
Simplify before you shrink
Fine detail disappears at chest size. We will suggest a simplified version and show you both on the proof.
Thread colors are matched, not printed
We match to the closest thread in stock and name it on the proof. Exact brand-guide matching is not always possible, and we will say so.
Digitizing is a one-time fee
New logo, new fee. Reorders of the same logo skip it entirely.
If your artwork is not usable.
We will tell you within a day, and we will tell you what it would take to fix it. Most of the time that means redrawing your logo as vector art, which is a one-time charge and yours to keep afterwards.
What we will not do is quietly run a bad file and let you find out at delivery. Send it to hello@ricoandstitch.com and we will look at it properly.
Send us your artwork.
We will tell you honestly whether it will work at the size you want, and what we would do about it if it will not.
